About the Competition

Robo Football is an innovative competition where football is played with robots

Robo Football Competition

In Robo Football, each team consists of 2 participants and 2 robots. Robots play with a ball on a dedicated football field. The game consists of 2 halves, each lasting 2 minutes. A 1-minute break is provided between halves.

The objective is to combine technology and strategy to score more goals against the opponent using robots. The competition tests participants programming, mechanics, and strategic thinking skills.

01

Team strategy

Develop attack and defense tactics and coordinate robots effectively

02

Technical mastery

Control robots using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other controllers

03

Programming

Develop movement logic and ball-handling algorithms for robots

04

Mechanical design

Build a fast robot capable of controlling the ball

Competition Rules

01

Game format

The match consists of 2 halves, each lasting 2 minutes. A 1-minute break is provided between halves. During the break, players may inspect their robots.

02

Goal rule

A goal is counted when the ball fully crosses the goal line. After scoring, the ball is returned to the center and play resumes.

03

Restart

If the ball leaves the field or gets stuck, the referee stops play and returns the ball to the center. Both teams must return their robots to their own half.

04

Two robots in defense

Placing both robots in front of the team goal at the same time is prohibited. Violations result in a penalty kick. Only one robot may act as a defender.

05

Extra time

If the score is tied at the end of regular time, 1 minute of extra time is awarded. The first team to score wins (golden goal rule).

06

Penalty shootout

If no winner is determined in extra time, a penalty shootout is held. Each team takes 3 penalty attempts. The ball is placed 30 cm from the goal line.
